Iroquois Gifts® by Jessica Loft

Style and Concept

All of the products available for purchase on my website are Indigenously-made by me. I am inspired by our native storytelling and the present contemporary life of my people.  All functional art or artisan products are made with all-natural high-quality ingredients.

My works are rooted in culture and tradition, but they are also an expression of the world I have grown up in on Turtle Island.  I was a child born in the 70s, and I grew up watching Jim Henson's Muppets. Other works delve into hard Indigenous subjects. I studied English Literature and have travelled overseas, and I am inspired by new cultures and landscapes as much as my own.  I respect Indigenous historical art; however, the concepts derived from my own timeline and experiences have shaped my artistic style.  I have lived on Aboriginal Reservations and as an Urban Aboriginal.  My artwork and products are self-expression.
